Speaking Out + Driving Change for Children
Texas children can't afford for our state leaders to ignore Racial Equity this legislative session, but time is running out for bills to have a fair chance. SB 399 (E. Lucio) was referred to the Senate Business and Commerce Committee last month but has yet to be scheduled for a public hearing.
Texas leaders and child advocates are ready to testify in support of SB 399 and other great bills that curb systemic racism and address racial disparities among our children! Help us get SB 399 on the calendar by sending a message to the Committee members.
Speaking Out + Driving Change for Children
SB 399 (E. Lucio) aims to improve state agency efforts to reduce childhood racial disparities. By requiring the Sunset Advisory Commission to include racial equity in their Sunset Review process, Texas leaders can gather impartial insights and nonpartisan policy recommendations to improve racial equity in our state.
